We arrived at the Dublin airport about 9am and realized that we hadn't planned ANYTHING! So we are trying to figure out what to do, how to get around, where to go and where to stay that night. Which took about two hours, in which time we decided to rent a car (hannah-23, Renee-22, which leaves me driving on the wrong side of the road in a stick shift!!! Yikes!) and to head south to Kilkenny. It is Irelands best preserved medieval town.
Nothing particularly special here, just pretty
As we drove into town we noticed there was a common theme of yellow and black everywhere! We wondered what was going on so we asked someone, the first person we asked we could hardly understand, something about oilin march.....which turns out translates to Ireland match. Still didn't know what. come to find out from the next person we asked that they just participated in a national championship game of hurling. Gonna have to google that one, never heard of it...only played in Ireland. Kind of like a mix between field hockey and baseball. They were having a charity match that night, so we decided to go on down and try it out. Not the most exciting game in the world, but it was cool to do something local
After the game we headed to Langtons which was recommended to us by the guy that ownes our hostle as the local spot for some drinks and food. And just to get warm, it is already freezing here!
I decided to go with the traditional Bangers and Mash. That many sausages is always questionable (I think you can almost see the fear in my eyes - ha), but it was actually really really good. It is now the next morning and still not even a twinge of hunger.

Great getting caught up on your travels. What an adventure. Glad you are having such a great time. One piece of advice: stay away from the bangers and stick to the sticky toffee pudding! (BTW, when you get home Whole Foods has a great one)
