Wimbledon Lawn and Tennis Club

After I picked up Jason from the airport we headed strait to a tennis players mecca at the tennis club in Wimbledon. We saw the museum first which was really cool. Here are the actual trophies for the men's and women's singles winners. All the winners names are engraved on them. The museum was really amazing with holograms of famous players and highlight reels from all the years past. Very well done.
Then we headed out to see the courts. Here we are right in front of court one. There is a huge hill here where people without specific tickets to a court can sit and watch the games on a huge television screen put up just behind us. It was sunnytoday, but absolutly freezing!

We got to go in and see the press room where all the players are interviewed after their matches. It was incredible to think of how many famous tennis legends have sat in those seats.

Then we got to go and see "the center court" where all the big matches are played. The unique thing about wimbledon is that all the courts are grass courts. They spend tons of time and money on making that grass just the perfect condition for play. The tour was really fantastic and now I will be even more excited to watch Wimbledon this year.

The day just kept getting colder and colder and after our tour we had to wait for the bus to take us back to the metro to go pick up Melanie and it started snowing again. Fun but soooo cold.
